You're right, Darren - I just picked a product that had relatively reliable composition - who knows what exact molecules you're dealing with in Arnica or something?

Plus, SiO2 amused me as a possible homeopathic sunburn cure...

Of course, you have to consider than silicon dioxide a) does not form discrete SiO2 molecules (a single crystal of sand is one whopping big molecule) and b) quite insoluble. When you make your "mother tincture" by "dissolving" a gram of sand in a litre of water, nearly all of the sand falls straight to the bottom of the beaker, small quantities of the more finely divided sand stays suspended in the tincture, and trace quantities actually dissolve (not as SiO2 molecules, but as more complex polysilicate ions).

I'm doing a research paper on complementary and alternative medicines, trying to focus on Reiki and homeopathy. I started out thinking I'd have no trouble finding reports of recent, peer-reviewed studies showing such interventions have no scientific value. I'm sure they are out there, but I haven't found them--instead, I'm finding lots of "peer-reviewed" journals that report on the value of these interventions. I am finding lots of comments about the proliferation of so-called peer review journals and their "studies", but I would have to admit that if I was totally naive when I started my research, I would likely conclude that there was lots of good evidence for homeopathy and reiki. This is not a good situation. Can anybody help?

Honestly its all so obviouse to no psuedo science infected humans that metrically, scientifically Homeopathy is a bunch of toilet.......

However, All this actually means is that non deranged anti bollocks based remedy thinking humans will continue to think that homeopathy is rubbish.

What we can do is get the homeopathic idiots to argue about Empirical data. then disect it. Is fun, its easy and they actually end up conceeding arguments - mayby they wont chainge their faith in non ingrediant based medecine, but you can actually hear them say occiasionally ;Oh Mayby your right about that;.............

[...] So, I sat down and did some math to try to outline why super-diluted potions and elixirs are little more than magic. Check out the results at the Skeptical Dog. [...]
